Young Entrepreneur Academy (YEA)
The Young Entrepreneur Academy (YEA) is a six-week training program and loan fund offered by COR Community Development Corporation (CORCDC) aimed at promoting entrepreneurship in underserved communities. YEA is part of CORCDC's comprehensive entrepreneurship development strategy designed to empower high school-aged young entrepreneurs from low-to-moderate income backgrounds to create and grow job-creating businesses and gain financial literacy, while also encouraging them to pursue higher education and career opportunities.

Young Entrepreneur Academy Measurements and Social Impact:
•Over 350 participants since 2015
•98% of participants are from low-to-moderate income families
•96% of participants are African American and Latino
•65 participants participated in pitch competition events
•13 entrepreneurs have been awarded business startup microloans of up to $5,000
•10 Tuition-Assistance grants awarded totaling $9,000
•80+ participants are pursuing higher education
•Over 60 participants have obtained full or part-time employment
•Average GPA improved by 1.8%
